We have just returned from the Mazatec Sierra.
Once again, our experience there was beyond our expectations.
A Bit of History
After Grandmother Julieta died, we found again Julia, Julieta's niece who we met some 35 years ago but with whom we lost contact for some 25 years, she is now a medicine woman, she opened for us the doors of her house far away from Huautla, in the depth and magic of the untouched Mazatec Sierra, where we found again the original magic of the Mazatecs, and the powerful and overwhelming beautiful nature of this place. Again we were able to enter and touch profound aspects of consciousness and the healing that characterizes those mysterious, powerful, and beautiful mountains.
The Recent Visit
The place has continued to open it's portals and secrets every time more. With each visit we have engaged deeper than before, with the family members, with the place where they live, their mountains, rivers and waterfalls, trees, caves and the sacred plants that lead to betterment, healings, awareness, and transcendence.
This time we were able to explore deeper the cave they have in their land, it is big, and we scouted till a point we could not go further as we found a downwards crack that would require ropes and equipment.... Maybe we will explore that with the proper gear sometime in the future. What a beautiful place. Now that we entered that far we have realized its a fantastic place to work and engage with with Mother Earth.
We were again joyfully received and beautifully treated by this family, they hosted us in their home, where they cooked for us simple delicious food, all harvested around the house, true, real, pure food, simple, yet delicious.
They built for us a Mazatec temazcal (sweat lodge) so we could go through the necessary cleansing before the Sacred Plants ceremonies. An interesting tunnel like structure, in contrast with the usual round design we are all used to.
They provided the precious space to go through deep inner work. The healing ceremonies are the real untouched tradition, and the medicine is effective, profound and powerful, like Huautla was 40 or 45 years ago, aspects that you cannot find there anymore due to the arrival of civilization. We found again something we had not experienced in the Mazatec Sierra for decades, and joyfully discovered it's still alive, powerful and untouched!
The Work
The group that came this time had important work to do and solve, such as profound existential doubts seeking answers, digesting and recovering from a very strong grief, working on the healing of a life threatening health problem, and opening to this realms of awareness and lucidity for the first time looking for a better way of living and being.
The Ceremonies
The three ceremonies were very different and addressed different aspects, but were also very profound, specially the strongest one was challenging and awakening. Each person worked very well their quests, and all of them got what they were looking for, and maybe they found even more than they imagined
We can only be thankful to this magical and untouched area of the Sierra, and to the amazing family that offers not only their home and protection but also the platform and medicines to work in such serious and profound ways, for the trust they have in us, and of course to the incredibly powerful help nature gives
Besides visiting the main Mazatec power places, we also hiked near the house in areas that are wonderful, and are part of their land, it is so big you can walk all day and not see it all. In their land they have mountains, creeks, rivers, and even caves.
There they grow corn, squash, chili... uncountable vegetables herbs and fruit trees. This place and family allow us to feel safe, silent, protected, and peaceful, which is a basic foundation to trust and surrender to your healing process to let it happen to its full with no worries.
One More Portal
Now that we are back, feeling empowered, alive, tranquil, lucid and joyful, people want to know what happened, after sharing with them this insights, some wanted to join in the last moment but the logistics were closed and was not possible anymore, they ask if we would visit anytime soon so they would join. We said we had this scheduled in one year, but some insist to go this year if possible. So we asked the family if they would receive us again soon. They are open to receive us before the rain season ends.(Sacred Plants only grow in the rainy season)
Therefore we are opening this invitation to those of you who were not able to come with us in the previous dates, and those who have been asking to go.
